On the right where the log (the starchart button area) there is a queue - if you’re letting your game run overnight, set a building queue of some expensive building that uses stuff you cap on; wake up with many of those built.
For example, I’m pushing black sky and need cat power reserves; I have it set to build temples which take gold which take time, it does it automatically for me.

Man, that helped so much during that industrial era purchasing observatories and lumber mills that require you to stockpile iron forever without crafting any steel. Or the upgrades that require you to refrain from trading so you can stockpile gold.
Now in my freaky leviathan trading phase, I use it to buy upgrades for all the unobtanium buildings since I can only craft so much eludium while idling.
